【爵士營課程規劃 TISJA Courses】
第四屆台北國際爵士樂夏令研習營主題為「閃耀爵起」， 本年度將延續主流爵士、拉丁、放克、爵士搖滾、融合爵士等多元音樂風格，新增嘻哈、酸爵士等動感律動風格探索 ，於課程規劃中納入樂團合奏、專題講座、工作坊、成果發表等等，另並針對首度參加學員，進行更多團體即興與合奏課程

◎ 課程說明︰
一、單項樂器部份︰
為鋼琴、木管（薩克斯風、豎笛、長笛）、銅管（小號與長號）、貝斯（原音與電音）、吉他、爵士鼓、拉丁打擊樂器、男女歌唱、小提琴、大提琴、其他獨奏樂器（請先來信徵詢 <info@taipeijazz.com>）等所規劃之個別課程、大師班講座。進階組學員並將學習Modal Jazz、Modern Jazz、Latin、Funk、Soul、R&B等風格之演奏技巧，並增設大師班工作坊。
二、樂團合奏部份︰
a. 主題樂團—本年度主題為 現代爵士樂團 、拉丁合奏樂團、融合爵士樂團、放克爵士樂團、節奏藍調樂團等
b. 各類樂團—由各分組老師指導，評選最佳樂團將於爵士馬拉松音樂會中演出
三、團體課程部份︰
a. 爵士音樂史與風格認識︰由專業師資規劃主講每日互動式課程，每年並針對特定大師風格舉辦研討講座 （2004年主題為鋼琴家Bill Evans，2005年為薩克斯風大師巡禮、2006年為Afro-Cuban風格拉丁音樂探索）
b. 爵士理論︰分門別類和聲、節奏、曲式、分析等，交由分科老師帶領
c. 大師班︰學員不但向自身樂器老師學習，並需要向其他樂器老師學習，以求深入了解爵士樂合奏之特性
d. 爵士即興︰團體即興互動探討，實地操作啟發學員潛能
e. 即興合奏︰以老師帶領學員的方式，每日以大量時數引導操作爵士樂中最重要之舞台學習方式
f. 進階級學員課程︰針對資深學員規劃進階級課程如即興法則精進、當代爵士風格探討、等
◎ 課程時數及日程︰
團體課程中偏重大班課理論部份將於早上九點進行至十二點
個別課程及工作坊互動講座將安排於下午一點至四點
樂團合奏課程將安排於下午一點至六點
課程分早午晚三階段，由老師與學員於營區內分程度展開，晚上八點以後，則展開不限時數之即興合奏（Jam Sessions），或邀師生參與集體討論。
另並安排學員與老師之切磋請益時間、研討講座及音樂、影片欣賞討論等。詳細課表將於學員錄取後一併寄發。營隊期間所有學員皆需集中住宿於實踐大學學生宿舍，團體生活學習。
In addition to the courses traditionally offered in a summer jazz academy program, this year TISJA will add courses focusing on the jazz relevant styles–Latin, Funk, R&B, Fusion, and even more groove/ dance flavor. These styles will be taught in ensembles, lectures, workshops and performed in faculty and student concert programs. For first-timers, more group improvisation and ensemble courses will be added. The regular coursework will feature the following:
Theory Lessons
Jazz History & Style, Jazz Harmony, Jazz Rhythm, Jazz Form, Jazz Analysis
Individual Lessons
Piano, Brass (Trumpet & Trombone), Woodwinds (Saxophones, Clarinet, Flute), Double Bass & Electric Bass, Guitar, Drums, Latin Percussion, Voice (Male & Female), Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello), Miscellaneous Instruments (Please write if you do not see your instrument listed here <info@taipeijazz.com>).
Advanced Lessons
Piano students will study the playing techniques of Latin, Funk, Soul, R&B. All the advanced students will study Modern Jazz Styles, Advanced Improvisation Skills, etc.
Workshops & Master classes
Group Improvisation, Introduction of Styles, Stage Interaction, Jazz Masters Tributes (2004: Pianist Bill Evans, 2005: Jazz Saxophone Masters, 2006: Afro-Cuban Music Styles)
Ensembles
Bands in different styles and repertoire, various formats , this year we will add a Modern Jazz Group, a Latin Jazz group,,a Funk-R&B group with horn section and a hip-hop/Acid Jazz style group as main focus, with other over 30 smaller groups.

Students will be housed in the dormitory of Shih-Chien University and are required to participate in all the courses/activities. The new 2007 Lesson Schedule will be published in June.
