「 2008 仲夏爵士悠遊—台北國際爵士樂教育推廣季」（ Taipei International Jazz Season ）已成為台灣樂壇之年度盛事，不但兼具教育性與娛樂性，也讓台灣地區的聽眾了解到爵士樂藝術鑑賞與教育的重要性，進而帶動相關表演市場的興盛，特別在台灣未來的爵士樂人才培養上，核心活動 TISJA 台北國際爵士音樂營，更扮演了十足重要的角色。
「 TIJEPA 大眾爵士樂欣賞講堂」為台灣地區第一個為愛樂者設計的長期性爵士欣賞講堂課程， 2006 與 2007 連續兩年每屆開辦隨即爆滿， 2007 年底至 2008 年初更進一步開辦十場「 TIJEPA 冬季爵士樂深度講座」，寫下歷史新頁。 2008 年我們將秉持專業規劃理念與獨一無二結合現場示範互動之內容，藉以培養更多認真的爵士樂聽眾，開發更大的爵士樂市場。
「 TISJA 台北國際爵士音樂營」已然奠定基礎，成為亞洲地區之爵士教育重鎮，除了來自台灣各地的爵士新秀參與盛會外，近年來也吸引來自日本、香港、馬來西亞、美國等各國年輕樂手參與，也讓台灣地區的聽眾了解到爵士樂教育的重要性，以及帶動爵士樂表演市場的興盛，特別對於台灣未來的爵士樂人才培養，更扮演了十足重要的角色。除了成為國內正確學習爵士樂的指標性管道外，其中已有不少參與學員深受啟發出國至歐美爵士音樂學院深造，未來將帶給台灣樂壇更具新意的衝擊。 |

2008 年之國際爵士音樂營將堂堂邁入第五屆，除了擴大邀請一流國內外爵士音樂家參與教學與演出活動，繼續擔綱培育台灣爵士樂明日之星的搖籃，並將整合國內各項演出展館空間，推出多場中小型音樂會，吸引更多市民參與，增加專業藝文空間能見度，也為已建立傳統之七月「台北國際爵士音樂節」多場週末大型戶外爵士盛會熱力暖身，讓爵士樂音繚繞首善之都。
The Taipei International Jazz Season was founded in 2004, begun as an international Jazz program to offer the highest quality Jazz music instruction to young musicians and singers, the academy soon expanded in 2005 to include a Broadway program and outdoor concerts. In the year of 2006, the series of events were integrated into 2006 Taipei International Jazz Festival.
The core of the event – Taipei International Summer Jazz Academy offers unique opportunities for studying with acclaimed international jazz artists and makes an international educational experience available to all Taiwanese and Asian students unable to travel abroad to continue their music education. In addition, the academy makes international study opportunities available in music styles that are rarely taught in Asian high schools, conservatories and universities. Since 2004, there are over 20 young talents were encouraged by the faculty members of TISJA and went abroad to study jazz professionally in Europe and USA such as Royal Conservatory Brussels, North Texas University, The New School in New York and Berklee College of Music.
In addition to the educational activities of the Jazz academy programs, headline artists, faculty and students will perform in a series of high profile public concerts in central Taipei. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 these concerts attracted audiences of over 20,000. In 2008, we will continue to hold various jazz concerts besides the two large outdoor concerts in the 2/28 Peace Park on July 25th and 26th by local jazz faculty and senior students of the summer jazz academy, which will take place in the various communities of Taipei City.
Besides performance events and education for local young professionals,TIJEPA instructors offered the courses of Lectures for music lovers and non-musicians. The organizers are looking for the broader jazz music apperication not only for musicians but also for potential audience.
